“Every day, people settle for less than they deserve. They are only partially living or at best living a partial life. Every human being has the potential for greatness.”
Bo Bennett

‘Vertigo’, the Autumn/Winter 2010 women’s wear collection

The inspiration behind the concept for my final collection was restriction and confinement of the body. This theme intrigued me and led me onto the path of researching medieval body armour. The shape and structures of the panels that made up the pieces of armour that I was inspired by enhanced and exaggerated certain area’s of the body, sometimes restricting and confining joints and area’s of movement. Lines were clean cut and simple. Through extensive design development I took shape, structure and cut from the panelling on medieval body armour and designed a collection based on this concept for a strong independent woman. I wanted the style of the collection to be elegant, smart and tailored. The woman in mind would portray style with a sense of flair and originality, power and success. The collection depicts quirky tailoring, for a business minded women who wants to stand out from the crowd.
